a little about me…
My name is Katherine,
I’m twenty-five years old & currently based in the UK.
A little about me
After recently completing my degree in Diagnostic Radiography in the luscious greenery of Sheffield and graduating with first class honours, I then straight into work at a world renowned research project where I spent almost two years in research before realising it was time for me to pursue some of my passions outside science.
Why photography?
I’ve always loved photography from a young age; the excitement it brought in my early years, snapping photos of my friends and family at celebrations and parties, to being captivated by the surrealist, earthy beauty of wildlife and the natural world.
Being able to encapsulate the feeling of a place, a unique perspective or tell a ‘visual-story’ has always been at the forefront of my photography. I am inspired by all different styles of photography but especially classic 70s film-style and detail. I love the immersing myself in new cultures, communities, towns or cities and find it fascinating how everyone perceives each moment differently. In my photography, I hope to offer you a glimmer into my perspective through my lens.
Travelling
I’m lucky to have visited some beautiful places growing up. Some ‘core memories’ include the sleepless city of New York, snowy Central Park mid-December, travelling via yellow taxi and awe-ing at the spiralling simplicity of the architecture in the Guggenheim.
Contrasting with the zest and zing of the Amalfi Coast; bursting with limoncello and timeless romance. Not forgetting the swooning serenade of strings at the cliff-side Ravello Music Festival - a must see.
Watching sun descending behind a live cliffside orchestra, leaving behind a sky resembling that of an artist’s palette - simply other-wordly.
